Lincoln’s Letter to his Son’s Teacher

He will have to learn, I know,
that all men are not just,
all men are not true.
But teach him also that
for every scoundrel there is a hero;
that for every selfish Politician,
there is a dedicated leader…
Teach him for every enemy there is a friend,

Steer him away from envy,
if you can,
teach him the secret of
quiet laughter.

Let him learn early that
the bullies are the easiest to lick…
Teach him, if you can,
the wonder of books…
But also give him quiet time
to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky,
bees in the sun,
and the flowers on a green hillside.

In the school teach him
it is far honourable to fail
than to cheat…
Teach him to have faith
in his own ideas,
even if everyone tells him
they are wrong…
Teach him to be gentle
with gentle people,
and tough with the tough.

Try to give my son
the strength not to follow the crowd
when everyone is getting on the band wagon…
Teach him to listen to all men…
but teach him also to filter
all he hears on a screen of truth,
and take only the good
that comes through.

Teach him if you can,
how to laugh when he is sad…
Teach him there is no shame in tears,
Teach him to scoff at cynics
and to beware of too much sweetness…
Teach him to sell his brawn
and brain to the highest bidders
but never to put a price-tag
on his heart and soul.

Teach him to close his ears
to a howling mob
and to stand and fight
if he thinks he’s right.
Treat him gently,
but do not cuddle him,
because only the test
of fire makes fine steel.

Let him have the courage
to be impatient…
let him have the patience to be brave.
Teach him always
to have sublime faith in himself,
because then he will have
sublime faith in mankind.

This is a big order,
but see what you can do…
He is such a fine little fellow,
my son!

Food for thought.....

You see, hear, and experience many things in this world. They are nothing but the reflection, reaction, and resound of your inner being...Consider this example.

There is someone who hates is the hatred in you that has taken the form of hatred in him.

In the same manner... Whatever you see in the outside world, whatever you experience, be it pleasure or pain, has in fact come from within you.

Why is it important to love everyone around you?... Mia thinks u have your answer now...

For the sixty plus' of the world..

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour…..

Loving the Invisible...

But, man today has not really understood what spirituality means. He is under the mistaken notion that spirituality means merely offering worship and prayers to God and performing rituals. Man today worships inanimate idols and images, but makes no attempt to love his fellow human beings. If a man cannot love a fellow human being who is visible before his eyes, how can he love someone not visible to him? This is not possible.

Only a man who loves those around him can love the invisible Divine.

At times mia surprises herself this a part of growing up or is this somethingelse altogether? staid and steady when she should be shaking like a leaf, mia minus the exam blues...not worrying about the future when others are debating, obsessing and starting to feel the butterflies..I guess miracles do happen on earth!

Written to an "ailing heart"...

Dearest Ailing Heart,

What's stopping you from telling her how u feel? Dont tell me BIG EGO suffer from an overdose of it i know....for all you know she probably knows already...u got to understand tht women are smart..they sense things...

Dont worry...crushes will die down given soem time..i think it took me almost 5 years to get over my first crush... yeah ....5 looooooong years...we taureans are pretty staunch when it comes to matters of teh heart i guess!

Now thinking back seems soo funny...but yeah crushes are have somebody to think about..dream abt 24/7...u cant wait to meet his eye and hope tht he likes you too...u remember every smile of his and every word he ever spoke to you...u can never imagine telling him how you feel and plan day in and day out about wat would happen if he came and told you teh exact words you wanted to hear!

I guess the pain of it all is little compared to the fun's much worse when u dont have a single crush at all..u start to wonder if there is at all something called a heart inside of you...n the feeling's certainly not funny!

So quit feeling sorry for urself and enjoy the crush while it lasts (assuming this is wat u mean by ur plight!)..Or walk up to her n tell her how you feel..simple..

I've come to realise that the size of a gals heart can always be judged from the way she will react if a guy (she may not have any feelings for) were to express his "crush" for good luck!

take care

The Funniest Creatures in the Whole Wide World!

Why are guys teh funniest creatures in teh whole wide world?....
read teh below chat convo...

Sumaidh Shah: Guess what...I spoke to Rahul too...and you know what he said..
Sumaidh Shah: I said Myself and Ram kumar would be there by 7...and he
pleaded " guys pls come early...I am meeting Sowmia
after 6 years or so...and do not know what to talk to her..."
sowmiamohanlal: hehehehe
sowmiamohanlal: wait i will grill him

They are such simple creatures..teh art of small talk simply goes way above their heads...Which is why they find it so difficult to send one decent mail... Ofcourse Spjcm has shown me males that can talk a mile a minute depending on their IQ/ Ego Quotients or for that matter Class Participation marks…..;0)
Not that I’m Queen Sheeba when it comes to small talk. The gift of the gab seems to have fled ten thousand miles from anywhere I am, ever since I enshrined myself within the SPJCM precincts. Looks like only the working world will see the revival of the sleeping dame….Zzzzzzzz
